# About RND TV

RND TV is a browser-based television feed made from public video records in the Internet Archive. Each session receives a random, unpersonalised sequence from the eligible catalogue. There is no search, recommendation system or back button.

## The air

The set starts playing immediately. Switching moves forward to another random item. When a channel leaves the air it is not available on demand through RND TV, although its original archive.org link remains in the Air Log for the current session.

## Gems and Air Log

A viewer can mark a channel as a Gem. Gems are stored in that browser and keep the title and original source link. Turning the set off opens a summary with the number of channels watched, time on air, Gems and session links. The viewer may send that summary and a CSV Air Log by email.

## Phone remote

The **connect remote** button shows a pairing code. A phone that scans it becomes a remote for the screen. The phone can also take the current air, including the current item, session log and Gem state, then hand it back. Pairing state is relayed temporarily and is not stored by the server.

## Sources

Videos play directly from [archive.org](https://archive.org/). RND TV does not claim ownership of the material. The original source record is linked with every clip and in the Air Log.

## Creator

RND TV was created and is operated by [Sergei Vorniches](https://vorniches.com). Public profiles: [Product Hunt](https://www.producthunt.com/@vorniches) and [GitHub](https://github.com/vorniches).
